Nowadays, sharing our lives on social media without caution has become normal. Our priority is no longer protecting our privacy but showing off and seeking attention. Rather than presenting ourselves as who we are, we create a false narrative online, fearing judgment from others. We have become conditioned to be online, and separating our identity from it is becoming harder.
In Watch Yourself (2025), I caution people about the harmful effects of social media and how it all deceives us and changes our behaviour. Through a photo-based art series, I explore the role of surveillance and power in our obsession and addiction to social media, using Foucault's Panopticon theory.
